9-02-08 I am now offering the new LiteOn drive service for all new 360’s Any 360 manufactured from the middle of April 2008 on will likely have this new drive. You can get all the service details here. This drive can not be hacked. However it is now possible to read the drive key and spoof data from the drive. This data is what is needed to be able to replace the drive with one that can be hacked. So what this service provides is the only means available to those with the LiteOn drive. You will need to provide a replacement drive with your console to be modded. So the drive can be replaced with a Samsung, Hitachi, or benq 360 drive. You can get these drives on eBay here. Make sure you get a drive from a dealer with good feedback. There are also some online retailers that may sell replacement drives as well. 9-01-08 Brian is resuming his PS2 chip service. You can check it out here. 8-24-08 GOOD NEWS. I HOPE to soon offer LiteOn drive replacements for the new consoles that come with this new drive. I should have the hardware needed to read the drive key and spoof data from this new drive this upcoming week sometime. This will allow the LiteOn drive to be replaced with a hackable drive. So at some point within the next week I will need one lucky volunteer to offer me their console with a LiteOn drive. This volunteer will get FREE service AND a FREE Samsung dvd drive replacement. However this free service comes at a cost as it will serve as a guinea big. This means it will be something I have never done before and hence will be a learning process for me. This means that for this lucky person you can end up with one of the first LiteOn based console to be hacked. Anyone interested in volunteering there console as a test case please feel free to let me know here. I will pick 1 person sometime around the first of September to get this new service for FREE. 8-20-08 I am now offering Wii service again. Brian is taking some time off so I am now resuming this service. Wii service gets the same (ship back to customer same day it arrives) as the 360 does. So turnaround time is fast. Get all the Wii service info HERE. 8-19-08 With the new 60GB pro 360 now being available I been getting many requests to mod them. ALL THESE NEW CONSOLES HAVE THE NEW LITEON DRIVE. This drive can not be modded in any way. Since every drive is locked to its console with a unique drive key that is in the drives firmware this means that it cant even be replaced with a flash able drive. This new drive has been designed to not be hacked. LiteOn even has a patent on this new security that this new drive has. Work however is being done to try and find away around this new security. It may be that at some point this drive may have some kind of modding solution available for it. Only time will tell. But this will not happen soon. If and when something can be done with this new drive I will offer the service needed for it. 8-05-08 Some good and bad news. First the good news. Thanks to Podger at x-scene.com I am now able to lower the price of the Hitachi 79 service down to the same as all the other drives. It is now $40 + return shipping and insurance. There is also no need for any Passkey chips so don't bother ordering any. Now to the bad news. Brian has been working lots of overtime with his job (this pays his bills) and does not have much time anymore for his mod work (Wii & PS2). For this reason he is no longer accepting any new work until his job slacks off some. He will be back and accepting service soon. !!FEAR NOT!! Any console he has will be done and shipped back to the customer as he is able to get to them. Unfortunately this may take a little longer than it should but you will get your modded console back as soon as he is able. Feel free to send him any questions and he can answer them as he can when he gets online. Brian and me fully apologizes for the inconvenience. This has no affect on any 360 service. All 360 consoles still gets shipped back out same day they arrive. 7-31-08 Due to a few recent blatant oversight of a long lasting site and service rule that some would be customers fail to understand I have to reiterate again. !ANYBODY PLANING TO USE ANY SERVICE WE HAVE TO OFFER TO PIRATE GAMES WILL NOT BE SERVED BY US!. If anyone plans to be a pirate you will take your business elsewhere. If me or Brian gets any indication you plan to be a pirate you will be turned down for service. Piracy will not be tolerated in any way. Our service is for the soul purpose of playing backups they legally own. We have tutorials here and here on how to make your own backups. I have had to turn down service for a few would be customers over the past week and I have no problems turning down more. This rule has always and will always be enforced by me and Brian. Up until recently we have not had a problem but some of you just don't get it. 7-30-08 I have a new contact number that I can be reached at. If you have any none working DVD rom and need to recover the drive key please contact me for more info. Just keep in mind that this is only valid if the current drive still has a valid drive key in the firmware chip. 6-18-08 Time for a small face lift and a new name. Cumberland-Mods has suited us well over the last couple years but to be honest it does not accurately reflect the true nature of our business. We are and always have been providing service on a national level and Cumberland-mods is too much of a regional or local name.
